NBA player Austin Reaves is golf-obsessed. Here’s how to shop his latest on-course gear

If you haven’t heard yet, Austin Reaves (the starting shooting guard for the Lakers) isn’t the only NBA star who knows his way around a golf course (we’re looking at you, Steph Curry).

In fact, he’s certifiably golf-obsessed. Reaves is even claiming he’s the best golfer in the entire NBA. Bold words! But Reaves has been playing golf for basically his whole life, which carries a lot of weight in regard to golf IQ.

Earlier this summer, Reaves and his childhood best friend, Trent Swaim, decided they’d start a golf TikTok channel “for the hell of it.”

Reaves said he was playing every day this summer, so it was easy to just start taking videos. His fans are loving it, and the name of the channel is perfect: @HillbillyBogey (now on Youtube, Instagram and Tiktok).

In college, at Oklahoma, Reaves’ GA used to call him “Hillbilly Kobe.” From that, Reaves’ friend Swaim coined the name ‘Hillbilly Bogey’ for the new channels — pretty ideal for a golf social media account.

It wasn’t long before their 100 followers became 30k followers and big golf names like Garrett Clark (aka @gm__golf), the face of Callaway’s Good Good brand, wanted to collab.
