Chipping in your backyard is one way to improve your game, but that type of short-game practice doesn’t exactly replicate the types of lies you’ll see on the golf course. We aren’t always chipping from the rough, and those tight lies around greens are sometimes the most menacing chip shots. That’s why you need to practice them.
