The 2022 Open Championship starts next week in St. Andrews, but first the best players in the world will compete in another Scottish event: the 2022 Genesis Scottish Open. According to the Scottish Open betting odds via BetMGM, only heavy-hitters can be found among the betting favorites. Here’s what you need to know.

2022 Genesis Scottish Open odds: This week’s favorites

Weeks after his triumphant first major victory at the U.S. Open at The Country Club, Matt Fitzpatrick returns to action this week in Scotland.

But his historic win outside Boston was not enough to earn him the title of betting favorite. At +2000 odds to win, Fitzpatrick has four players ahead of him.

The man at the top of the list is former World No. 1 Jon Rahm. Rahm has only one win on the season and has been overtaken ranking-wise by 2022 major winners Scottie Scheffler (+1400) and Justin Thomas (+1400). But according to oddsmakers, Rahm has the best chances to win at +1200.

2022 Genesis Scottish Open odds: Long shot of the week

When Danny Willett arrived at the 2016 Masters, few golf fans knew his name. But he drove away from Augusta National that year with a green jacket, cementing his legacy no matter what he did the rest of his career.

But after some initial struggles, Willett has charged back to become a regular contender on the DP World Tour. He captured his eighth DP World Tour win in October at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, and recent finishes at the 2022 Masters (T12) and the Betfred British Masters (T16), which he hosts, show that Willett has plenty of game left in the tank.

At long odds to win of +25000, Willett is unlikely to take home the title this week. But if he does, he could turn your $10 bet into $2,500.
