The 2022 PGA Championship is here, and it’s time to get your bets in before it’s too late. According to the PGA Championship betting odds via BetMGM, the current World No. 1 and the player he took the title from are tied as favorites at Southern Hills, but there are plenty of good bets to be had. Here’s what you need to know.
2022 PGA Championship odds: This week’s favorites
The favorites at the PGA, at least according to oddsmakers, are no surprise. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, fresh off his first major win at the Masters, shares the top spot with World No. 2 Jon Rahm, who won his first major at the U.S. Open last June.
Scheffler has four wins on the season, while Rahm captured his first 2022 victory two weeks ago at the Mexico Open. Their odds sit at +1200.
But the player coming in with the fifth-best odds to win the PGA deserves your betting consideration. Jordan Spieth won the RBC Heritage shortly after missing the cut at the Masters, then he nearly pulled off a victory on Sunday at the AT&T Byron Nelson, where he came up one shot short of champion K.H. Lee.
Spieth (+1800), who will be trying to complete the career grand slam with a win this week, has a good an opportunity as the four players ranked above him to pull out a victory.
2022 PGA Championship odds: Long shot of the week
Sebastian Munoz looked untouchable for most of last week’s AT&T Byron Nelson. Munoz charged into the lead with an incredible 12-under 60 in the opening round. He followed it up with rounds of 69 and 66, but a final-round 69 left him two shots behind Lee.
Munoz has only one PGA Tour win in his career, and he missed the cut at the last two PGA Championships. But neither of those were contested at Southern Hills, so you can consider it a new tournament. And it’s always smart to go with the hot hand.
At +15000 odds, a magical week for Munoz could turn a modest $10 bet into $1,500.
