For Vokey wedges, a copper oil can look is timeless and goes back to the 200 series wedges that turn 25 years old in 2025.
As a nod to that past, Titleist is releasing a limited-edition Oil Can finish for the Vokey SM10 wedges.
The copper-hued Oil Can finish is not the same as the original from more than two decades ago. This time it’s a PVD treatment designed to achieve a rich copper tone while also minimizing reflectivity and maximizing durability.
“A player has to love their wedge when they look down at it, and finish plays a key role,” Bob Vokey said. “Having confidence in your wedge at address is hugely important.”
The limited edition wedges will be offered in all 27 loft and bounce options available in the retail SM10 lineup through custom order, including the recently added low bounce K grind, for both right- and left-handers. There will also be 12 loft and bounce (50.08F, 52.08F, 54.10S, 54.12D, 56.08M, 56.10S, 56.12D, 58.08M, 58.10S, 60.08M, 60.10S, 60.12D.) combos available stock for right-handers only.
The oil can wedges will also come stock with a Project X wedge shaft with a Vokey-exclusive Brushed Chrome finish and a custom copper-colored Golf Pride Z-Grip Cord grip with BV Wings to complement the finish. Numerous other shafts and grips will be available for custom orders.
For custom orders, golfers will have the option to choose eight unique toe engravings with two additional unique Oil Can-only toe engravings as well.
The SM10 Oil Can wedges will feature all of the same enhancements the SM10 line has to offer, such as optimized CG locations based on loft and new TX9 grooves which are cut narrower and deeper on stronger lofted wedges and wider and shallower on the higher lofts.
Vokey’s limited-edition SM10 Oil Can wedges will be available for pre-order starting on March 18 before becoming available globally on March 27.
Each wedge will cost $249 and golfers looking to get their hands on one will have to act fast and the limited-edition finish will only be available while supplies last.
