Throughout his career Tiger Woods has employed wedges with a sole geometry that differs from most pros. For example, Woods’ lob wedge has an overall bounce of 11 degrees when it’s square to the target, but due to the shaved-down heel, it’s possible for him to open up the face to hit extreme flop shots with a bounce that measures just 4 degrees.

All of this is possible thanks to the grind. It’s the secret sauce. For those who’ve wondered what it would be like to pull off a mega-flop with Woods’ wedge, TaylorMade’s Milled Grind 2 TW Grind ($200) is the closest thing you’ll get to the dream scenario.

Fitting by sole grind, the TaylorMade Milled Grind 2 Wedges ensure precision where it matters most. Advanced milling techniques create exacting sole and leading edge geometries for unparalleled performance and consistency. ZTP groove technology contains steeper side walls and sharper edge radii to maximize spin and control on the course. Two sole grind options afford golfers the ability to select ideal specifications for their swing and course conditions.

The new wedges (56 and 60 degrees) are designed after Woods’ scoring tools, down to the shaping, bounce and turf interaction. The 56-degree wedge has a dual-sole grind with heavy heel relief that offers versatility with an open or closed face, while the 60-degree wedge features leading edge relief to help with turf interaction in firm conditions.

Like the rest of the MG2 wedges, the TW Grind has ZTP Raw Groove for increased spin and “thick-thin” technology to dial in the center of gravity.
