Rory McIlroy’s association with TaylorMade Golf will continue for the foreseeable future after the two sides announced a multi-year contract extension for the four-time major winner on Tuesday. The financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

McIlroy signed his initial deal with TaylorMade in 2017, at the Players Championship, and has logged seven PGA Tour titles since he left equipment free agency. The extension comes on the heels of TaylorMade’s recent decision to further bolster its Tour staff with the additions of world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler and top-ranked amateur Keita Nakajima.

“Over the last several years I have had the chance to work with the best equipment company in golf,” McIlroy said in a release. “Today I am excited to announce TaylorMade clubs and ball will be staying in my bag for many years to come. A combination of the dedicated people and unmatched performance is what drove me to remain a part of Team TaylorMade.”

McIlroy is set to defend his Wells Fargo Championship title this week at TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm with a bag full of TaylorMade gear, including a Stealth Plus driver (9 degrees) and fairway wood (19 degrees). Other than the woods and a different variation of the TP5x golf ball, McIlroy’s bag has changed much since last season.

The 32-year-old ranks 7th in the Official World Golf Ranking as he prepares to make his final tuneup before making the trip to Tulsa, Oklahoma, for the PGA Championship.

“Rory is undeniably one of the most captivating players in our game and truly one of the great human beings in the sports world,” said TaylorMade CEO and president David Abeles. “We have been fortunate to get a first-hand look at Rory’s approach to his game and the championship mindset that helps fuel his success. Over the past five years, in partnership with Rory, our company has been able to advance product innovation and put the best possible equipment in his bag. Rory’s decision to continue to put his trust in our company has us inspired to push the limits of performance even further.”
