San Diego Padres and Callaway Open Nine-Hole Course at Petco Park

October 15, 2015

Callaway Golf has partnered with the San Diego Padres to open a nine-hole course at Petco Park. That’s correct, a golf course inside a baseball stadium.

The Links at Petco Park features nine uniquely-themed holes that will give players an opportunity to hit shots onto the playing field from different locations all throughout the ballpark.

So for everyone who has ever dreamed of hitting a golf ball into a major league baseball stadium, now is your chance.

“San Diego is a premier golf destination and Callaway is a premier golf brand, so partnering on this event makes perfect sense,” Padres Vice President of Corporate and Event Revenue Jeremy Horowitz said in a press release. “The opportunity to play golf inside a Major League ballpark does not come along every day. We are looking forward to working with Callaway to make this an unforgettable experience, and to seeing our partnership grow over the coming years.”

According to the release, the course begins at a putting green in the Padres’ home dugout. Golfers then move to the upper deck for holes two through five to hit shots onto the playing field. The next tee, hole six, is on the field level near the Western Metal Supply Co. building. Hole seven’s tee is in centerfield and hole eight is a putting shot in the bullpen. The pièce de resistance finishing hole tees off from the rootop of the Western Metal Supply Co. building. You can see the map below. It looks awesome.

“We’re always trying to provide authentic golf experiences with our products that are unique and engaging, and that’s exactly what this partnership with the Padres is about,” Callaway Sr. VP of Marketing Harry Arnett said in the release. “Playing a nine-hole course at a venue like Petco Park with Callaway golf clubs and balls will be a once-in-a-lifetime round, and we are excited to be a part of it.”

The Links will be open to the public November 6-8, 2015 and cost $100 for twosomes and $200 for foursomes. Callaway balls and clubs will be provided for golfers who want to take the golf trip of a lifetime, with various opportunities to win Callaway prizes at different holes. The cost includes the round, parking, snacks, drinks and “The Links at Petco Park” hats.

For golfers who really want the red carpet experience, upgrades are available at $400 for twosomes and $800 for foursomes, which include a limited edition Padres-branded Callaway club and tickets to a 2016 Padres game.
