Cam Smith possesses one of the most coveted putting strokes on the planet. One could also contend his Scotty Cameron 009M is equally coveted, primarily due to the all-black finish.

For whatever reason, many gearheads have a thing for the dark look.

Scotty Cameron has heard the cries for a putter with the same finish and obliged. His latest limited-edition offering, the seasonal 2022 H22 Black Limited Proto, features Cameron’s “Tour Black” finish on not only the putter head but the shaft as well.

The first-ever Newport 1.5 Plus model is designed around a slightly wider profile and flange than the standard Newport for a different look at address. The end result is a putter that still looks like a blade, but with higher-MOI properties.

The multi-material head is precision milled from 303 stainless steel (body) with an anodized black 6061 aluminum sole plate that places discretionary weight around the perimeter for additional stability.

Each putter is built at 34.5 inches with a jet neck (full shaft offset), to promote toe hang, and comes standard with a textured Pistolero Plus grip and custom headcover. Sticking with the all-black theme, the three machined milled “Cherry Bombs” in the back cavity also have a similar dark finish.

The Scotty Cameron 2022 H22 Black Proto putter release is limited to just 1,500 pieces.
