Scottie Scheffler’s putter wins a lot. Here’s how to get one yourself

Scottie Scheffler's TaylorMade Spider putter.

Scottie Scheffler's TaylorMade Spider Tour X is part of the winningest putter family on Tour.

TaylorMade

Another win for Scottie Scheffler means another win for the TaylorMade Spider putter family.

Scheffler ran away from the field at Royal Portrush, finishing at 17 under for a four-shot victory and his fourth major title, but also the 25th win in the last two years for a TaylorMade Spider putter.

The TaylorMade Spider family has been around for over a decade, and it’s been one of the top putters on the PGA Tour in that time, but ever since Scheffler switched to the mallet in 2024, it’s been on an absolute heater.

Scheffler has picked up 11 PGA Tour victories (plus two additional worldwide wins, including the Olympics) in that time and Rory McIlroy has won another five times with a Spider, too. But overall, the putter family has an astounding 25 PGA Tour wins since January 2024.

TaylorMade 2025 Spider Tour X Black L-Neck Custom Putter

SPIDER TOUR X L-NECK For nearly two decades Spider putters have been delivering championship-winning stability and performance to professionals and amateurs alike. Scottie Scheffler recently joined this group by stepping into the winner’s circle for the third time in four starts with a Spider Tour X L-Neck in the bag. This legacy tech from TaylorMade helps you better visualize the line to the hole while also making it easier to aim the putter towards your target. Crafted from a blend of Surlyn and aluminum, it features grooves angled at 45° for optimal forward roll and better overall roll characteristics. PRECISION WEIGHTING AND DESIGN A thin wall undercut and steel wireframe allow for precision CG placement, creating a superstructure with enhanced stability and forgiveness.

That comes from both TaylorMade staffers like Scheffler, McIlroy and Karl Villips and non-contracted players like Nick Taylor, Shane Lowry and most recently, Chris Gotterup.

Brian Harman won earlier this season with the newest member of the Spider family, the Spider ZT, in a counterbalance configuration.

Women’s World No. 1 Nelly Korda is also gaming the Spider Tour V.

There are several reasons why many players are drawn to the Spider family, from the Pure Roll insert to the various configurations available, including alignment aids, weighting, neck styles, and more, which allow players to customize a Spider to their exact needs.

This week at Portrush, that all paid off for Scheffler who gained a whopping 8.52 strokes on the greens and went 48-for-49 from inside five feet.

Scheffler is still in the same Spider Tour X L-neck that he switched to last March. It features a full sightline and True Path alignment aid, and measures 35.5 inches with a 72-degree lie angle and 3-degree loft.
