This special Odyssey putter could be tough to get your hands on

Odyssey is only releasing 125 copies of the Phil Mickelson Major Winner putter.

Remember when Odyssey and Phil Mickelson teased the possibility of releasing a special-edition blade-style putter to commemorate Lefty’s win at the 2021 PGA Championship? Well, it’s no longer a tease. Earlier this week, Odyssey announced it would be releasing a small batch replica of Mickelson’s favorite putter to the masses.

Adding the words “small batch” to a putter release guarantees not everyone will be left with a warm and fuzzy feeling when orders are filled. As you’d expect, there’s a finite number of Phil Mickelson Major Winner putters. Think of it like a SNKRS drop where only a select few have the opportunity to pony up for the goods.

In this case, Odyssey is releasing just 125 putters (click here for more details) in left-handed only. Yes, the lefty contingent gets a win on occasion. Not only that, you’ll have to enter a drawing (by Nov. 1) for the right to own one. Assuming your name is called, you’ll be contacted by Odyssey to complete your purchase.

Odyssey’s Phil Mickelson Major Winner putter is designed to the exact specifications of the wand he used to win the 2021 PGA Championship. Odyssey

Needless to say, this isn’t your standard putter drop. Then again, we’re talking about a special piece of history attached to the oldest winner in major championship history.

With a $1,000 price tag, each putter is built to Mickelson’s exacting specifications. For example, the head is milled from 303 stainless steel with a deep double fly cut face milling that, according to Odyssey, “reduces the frequency of the ball and head contact, giving Phil the softer feel he prefers.” The overall soft feel is improved further via a flare tip steel shaft.

The traditional blade-style look has been Mickelson’s preference for three decades. Odyssey

Odyssey even added Mickelson’s exact toe hang (71 degrees) to achieve his preferred face rotation through impact. A SuperStrokePistol GT Tour grip, the six-time major winner’s handle of choice, and special edition Kiawah headcover — the same cover he used the week he won the PGA Championship — round out the small-batch offering.

Need something else to justify entering the sweepstakes? Each putter also comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by Mickelson. Here’s your chance to make that dream a reality if you’ve ever wanted to own Lefty’s putter.
