Nike Method Converge Counterflex S1-12 Putter Review: ClubTest 2016

May 17, 2016

CATEGORY: Large Mallet Putters
PRICE: $230
WE TESTED: 38″ length
KEY TECHNOLOGIES: The 370-gram head has extra weight in the heel and toe for added stability.

DISTANCE CONTROL: One of the highest-rated models — once guys work out the balance, they can control the roll perfectly; it only requires minimal effort to get the right distance.
FEEL: Among the best — the face insert is soft enough for good touch but firm enough to provide all the feedback you need; the adjustable counterbalance design makes the stroke automatic.
LOOK: The half-circle shape sits well behind the ball and adds confidence; the matte finish reduces glare and looks good doing it; red and black alignment aid works without being obnoxious.

Not everyone is a fan of the counterbalanced feel; guys with arcing strokes might struggle; too much rollout on lag putts for some testers.

BOTTOM LINE: One of the best large mallets. This forgiving model fits just about anyone — 75 grams of movable weight in the grip helps you find your ideal feel.
