With the PIF Saudi International taking place at Royal Greens Golf Course in Saudi Arabia this week, we’re getting our very first look at a lot of LIV golfers we haven’t seen play since the fall of 2022. Since then a lot of new equipment has been released, contracts have changed, and in the case of some of the biggest names, so has the gear in their bags.

Brooks Koepka

Srixon’s ZX MKII line has already made some big splashes this year in the world of gear, and although we can’t confirm Brooks has made the switch to the newest irons yet, he does have the new ZX5 MKII driver in the bag

Bryson DeChambeau

Although he’s still listed second behind Rickie Fowler on Cobra’s website and using a Cobra staff bag, Bryson was spotted with a TaylorMade Stealth 2 Plus in the bag.

This is an interesting development since Bryson was quoted last year on the Rick Shiels podcast during the release of the 2022 LTDx that he was even more excited for the next driver — this year’s Aerojet. Although entirely speculation, considering Bryson’s public airing of equipment grievances over the years, this could be a sign that his time at Cobra could be coming to an end.

With Jon Rahm on a heater with his Callaway Paradym driver, it should be no surprise that Phil Mickelson has put the new club in the bag. As for specs, it’s a Triple Diamon head with a Ventus TR Red, although weight and flex are unknown.

Ping G430 drivers are popular

The G430 has been an extremely popular driver with Ping staffers, and non-contract players alike. Based on the images we have from the Saudi International, players including Ian Poulter — who we should note is no longer listed on Titleist’s website — and Pat Perez are using the newest G430.

Another golfer that has made the switch to some Ping gear is Saudi international defending champion Harold Varner III, who was seen using Ping’s i230 irons. When he won last year he had Srixon ZX7 irons in the bag (4-PW).

Kevin Na

Thanks to Kevin Na’s caddie Kenny Harms, we got a close-up look at Kevin’s new custom Scotty Cameron Newport 2 Timeless putter.
