Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy and the rest of TaylorMade’s PGA Tour staff usually receive the honor of introducing the masses to the equipment manufacturer’s latest creations. But not this time around. TaylorMade’s newest blade, the “P7MB,” was spotted in the wild on Tuesday at Sunningdale Heath Golf Club in the bag of English professional golfer Charley Hull.

Hull, the 2014 Ladies European Tour Player of the Year, is teeing it up this week on the Clutch Pro Tour. Getty Images managed to snap some shots of Hull — and her TaylorMade bag, which just so happened to be filled with a full set of P7MB irons.

At first glance, the iron bears a striking resemblance to a blade currently played by a certain 15-time major winner. However, when you take a closer look you’ll notice some subtle differences between the P7MB prototype and Tiger Woods’ P7TW, including a designed musclepad and sole design.

The musclepad on the prototype appears to be more angled and pronounced, while the sole has a more traditional look and lacks the Milled Grind technology found on Woods’ current set. Could these be specific asks for Hull? It’s possible.

TaylorMade has yet to comment on the irons — and we don’t anticipate that changing — but it’s important to note the last blade the company released came at the tail-end of 2017 when P730 made its Tour debut in Akron, Ohio.

After a three-year wait, it appears recreational golfers could be on the verge of getting a new blade from TaylorMade in the not-too-distant future. Stay tuned.
