Our take: Mizuno has a knack for shrouding forgiveness and added distance in what look like traditional iron designs, and the JPX 921 Forged does that perfectly. They look like pure scoring clubs but come with a healthy dose of playability and added power hidden within, which according to one of our testers “made these irons feel more aggressive when setup behind the ball.” Feel, looks and tour-caliber performance—what more could a golfer want?

Mizuno has a knack for shrouding forgiveness and added distance in what look like traditional iron designs, and the JPX 921 Forged does that perfectly.

The details: These are the first Mizuno irons that were Grain Flow Forged from Chromoly 4120 which help produce the feel you’d expect from a Mizuno blade, but with a thinner face and a faster ballspeed. The compact design/reduced offset/beveled edge design is perfect for shotmaking, and Stability Frame helps lessen twisting on off-center hits. Lastly, the Pearl brushed finished reduces glare for a boost in concentration and fewer distractions over the ball.
