Our take: Apex led the way as one of the most requested irons during testing. The new-look Apex Pro had testers gushing over the blade profile and game-improvement forgiveness while Apex and Apex DCB earned high marks for their clean aesthetics and solid feel.

Callaway Apex 21 Irons

$1249.99
“Another winner” OUR TAKE: Once again, Apex led the way as one of the most requested irons during GOLF’s player testing. The new-look Apex Pro had testers gushing over the blade profile and game-improvement forgiveness, while the Apex and Apex DCB earned high marks for their clean aesthetics, consistent launch and solid feel. The hits just keep coming for one of the most complete iron lineups in the industry. THE DETAILS: Callaway’s most impressive Apex iron lineup to date has something for every handicap. With an AI-designed face cup leading the way, launch, spin and forgiveness characteristics are optimized for each club in bag, making it easier than ever to create a blended set. Housed just behind the face, slugs of tungsten mitigate distance loss and increasing launch, especially on off-center strikes. Proprietary urethane microspheres were also sandwiched between the face and tungsten to deliver a solid sound and feel at impact. In addition to the standard Apex, a larger profile Apex DCB offers a wider sole, additional offset and deeper cavity for the higher handicap. The hollow cavity Apex Pro muscle back is made for speed and forgiveness, while still allowing better players to reap the benefits of a compact profile that delivers flight control and workability.
