Titleist adds Performance Alignment aid to Pro V1, Pro V1x golf balls

The subtle arrow shape, 105 degrees in length, is custom printed on each golf ball opposite the Pro V1 or Pro V1x sidestamp.

The sidestamp found on the golf ball serves a number of different purposes. It lets you know what model you’re using, which is especially important for competitions when the one-ball rule is in effect. And for those who prefer to line the ball up to their target, it can act as a built-in alignment aid.

Some pros even mark over the sidestamp with a permanent marker to make the alignment aid stand out. Titleist is well aware of the countless pros who do this on a regular basis, including Scottie Scheffler, Cameron Young, Will Zalatoris, Justin Thomas and Wyndham Clark.

The Performance Alignment aid will be offered in four colors — black, red, blue and green. Titleist

Of course, not everyone wants to go through the process of marking their own golf balls. To make things even easier, Titleist unveiled a new Performance Alignment aid that’s now available on the 2023 Pro V1 and Pro V1x.

Offered in black, red, blue and green, the arrow-shaped alignment aid is printed on each ball opposite the sidestamp. The subtle arrow is 105 degrees in length, making it 60 percent longer than a standard Titleist sidestamp.

“Performance Alignment emulates how many of the best players in the game mark their Titleist,” said Jeremy Stone, vice president of Titleist golf ball marketing. “The benefit of players marking their golf ball with an alignment aid — specifically a long, straight line — is evident across all levels of competitive golf and plays a significant role in helping them improve their aim and accuracy.”

To be clear, there’s nothing wrong with the line you draw on the ball. But if you’re in the market for a ready-to-go alignment aid, the Performance Alignment ($59.99 per dozen) on Pro V1 and Pro V1x is worth consideration.
