With Jordan and Puma creating iconic shoe designs for the fashion-forward golfer, there’s never been a better time to be a sneakerhead in the golf apparel space. Ray Allen can attest. The two-time NBA champion and 2019 Hall of Fame inductee is part of the Jordan Brand. He also happens to be a massive golfer. Put those two things together and you have a recipe for a sizable shoe collection.

Allen joined GOLF’s Fully Equipped podcast recently to talk about the state of his game, his lowest round (63), equipment and, of course, his massive shoe collection. Come to think of it, using the word massive to describe the collection — which is a mix of basketball, golf, street and so much more — probably doesn’t do it justice. Ray is on another level.

“I don’t even count anymore,” he told Fully Equipped. ” I’m taking this class and this particular subject I was reading about was called “The Paradox of Choice.” It was fascinating. We think that choice — having more options — is better for all of us. But it paralyzes us. I ultimately end up not making a decision because there are so many things to choose from.”

This is a problem the average sneakerhead would gladly embrace.

“That’s how I am with my tennis shoes,” he said. “I just don’t know what shoe to wear today. Even more so, let’s say I want to find a red and black shoe, I have at least 200 pairs of red and black shoes.”

More that 200 pairs of red and black kicks? Simply amazing. If you’ve never seen a photo of Allen’s collection before, check out the shot below. It’s just a small sample of the closest (wing?) dedicated to his ever-growing collection.

We’re going to assume he has at least a few pairs of Jordans to match every one of his outfits when he takes to the course.
