Kentucky is known for many things — from Bluegrass and barbecue to horse racing and Wildcat basketball. And don’t forget about the bourbon.

The celebrated distilleries dotting the Kentucky Bourbon Trail happen to be the inspiration behind the Nike Air Zoom Infinity Tour golf shoes reigning PGA Championship winner Brooks Koepka and other Swoosh staffers will be wearing this week at Valhalla Golf Club.

The wood-aged textures, “barrel-aged browns” and smoked orange streaks are a nod to Kentucky’s rich bourbon history. Wood grain graphics on the Swoosh logo and a trunk-inspired outsole are meant to highlight the state’s longstanding timber tradition.

Much of the shoe’s upper is made from a gray Flyweave material that’s breathable but still repels moisture. The outsole sports six integrated spikes below the Air Zoom unit to provide maximum comfort without impacting the energy return.

In addition to Koepka’s shoe of choice, Nike’s PGA Championship pack will include the Air Pegasus 89G and Air Zoom Victory Tour 3 in the same colorway. The Victory Tour 3 is Rory McIlroy’s shoe of choice and sports a more classic look with full-grain leather.

The Infinity ($190), Victory ($210) and Pegasus ($140) are all available through Nike.com.
