Infusing your natural sense of style into your golf outfits used to be nearly impossible. Remember when the golf corner of your closet used to look wildly different from the rest of your wardrobe?

Those days are gone.

Ask Kathryn Newton. The 23-year-old golf-loving actress — she’s best known for playing Reese Witherspoon’s oldest daughter in Big Little Lies — consistently incorporates her funky-meets-preppy style into her on-course attire and proves that “looking like a golfer” doesn’t have to mean relinquishing your everyday fashionableness.

Ralph Lauren took notice. The brand announced Wednesday that Newton, who for years has worn Ralph Lauren both on the red carpet and on the course, is the new face of Ralph Lauren’s women’s golf line for its spring, summer and fall collections in 2020. Newton will appear in advertisements alongside Justin Thomas, who has worn Polo Golf and RLX Golf since turning pro in 2013.

“Since I was a little girl, I’ve been wearing Ralph Lauren on and off the golf course,” said Newton, a single-digit handicap who started competing in tournaments when she was 8 before playing on the golf team at Notre Dame High School in Southern California. “I’m truly honored and proud to represent the brand and look forward to being a part of the RL family.”

Ralph Lauren’s latest golf collections for both men and women combine fresh colors and fun prints with updated performance features, and they include transition pieces that are designed for on-course and off-course adventures.

Newton told us that while it’s tough to identify which pieces she’s most excited to wear, she loves Polo Golf’s dresses “because they’re so cute and classic RL Polo,” and that RLX pants are her go-to “because they always fit me perfectly and make me feel strong.”

Even as Newton’s acting duties are in higher demand than ever, she remains passionate about golf. She often shares snippets of her golf adventures with her 1.3 million Instagram followers, calling it the “greatest game ever played” and calling herself “just a little golfer girl.”

Here are a few pieces you’ll likely see Newton wear on the course this year:
