Fashionable items that double as golf-appropriate attire? Yes please!

Although pretty much every golf manufacturer markets their apparel as multifunctional, possessing the ability to transition seamlessly on and off the course, in many cases, it just doesn’t work — especially when it comes to women’s apparel. Golf-specific items just tend to look that way, even when they’re fashionable enough to be worn elsewhere.

Luckily, given the huge influx of activewear and athleisure that is now available from a multitude of non golf-specific brands, it’s possible to work backwards. That is, choose fashion-forward pieces for your regular life that can conveniently double as appropriate on-course ensembles. Such versatility is exactly what I found in some selections I received from Free People’s (FP) Movement line.

Full disclosure here: I’m a mom of two, in my mid-thirties. I love fashion as much as anyone, but as I clicked through Free People’s website, the vibe definitely seemed a bit out of my league, style-wise: the general look is young, bohemian, and ultra-cool in a way I am, well, not. I wasn’t sure I’d find anything that felt age-appropriate, let alone suitable for range time. But, lo and behold, I was wrong!

I was pleasantly surprised by the tops, especially. The fabrics are luxe and super-stretchy — perfect for feeling both fab and comfortable. I love the idea of wearing one outift that can take me from school drop-offs and pickups to a quick 30-minute range or Peloton session.

The “Schooling You” skort (see item in detail below) is adorable, but definitely on the ultra-short end. It goes without saying that the dress code at your desired course would have to be somewhat relaxed for some of these looks to fly, but here in Arizona, I’d have no issues wearing them on the public tracks I frequent most often.

Check out my favorite pieces from the line below, and for more of the best gear for your game, take a scroll through GOLF’s Pro Shop — your one-stop shop for the latest golf apparel, shoes, accessories and more.
