As you’d expect with a shaft that goes by the name “Hyper Drive” (HD), ball speed increases are expected with the new Tour AD HD. The premium shaft features a firm butt and midsection, along with a “firm-plus tip” that’s designed to generate a slightly more penetrating launch and lower spin rate.
Although the shaft is on the firmer end of the spectrum, it still offers a smooth feel due to the Torayca M40X carbon-fiber material extending from the midsection to the tip, an Torayca T1100G carbon-fiber specifically located in the tip section.
