Gimme that: A sleek rangefinder for serious golfers

A good rangefinder can change everything about your golf game.

Welcome to Gimme That, a GOLF.com column where we’ll highlight one notable item we think you might like. Whether it’s an article of clothing, an intriguing electronic device or anything in between, we want to share these items with you because they’ve generated a bit of chatter by our water cooler (or, these days, on our Slack channel). So sit back, scroll down and keep up with the latest gear golf has to offer.

I used to think a rangefinder was a rangefinder — that it doesn’t really matter which one you use. Then I got this one from Cobalt, and it was a complete game-changer.

At first, I liked it for its sleek look, but its functionality is what ultimately won me over. It locks onto the pin and vibrates when you get your yardage. That isn’t a super unique feature, but if you’re using a range finder that doesn’t do that, you should upgrade. It really gives you extra confidence over the ball that you have the right number. It has a convenient switch on the side to turn slope on or off, but it’s tucked away enough to prevent you from accidentally making a switch. It’s fully waterproof and has a long lasting battery life. The carry case easily and securely clips onto your bag without looking too bulky as well.
