Garmin knows GPS and fitness wearables. They also know golf. So with the introduction of the new Approach S70 series, golfers get more than just a distance measuring tool and course maps. They also get access to so much more including health data, and an array of smartwatch features.
Features
The S70 is equipped with a bright Amoled touchscreen to make it easy to read and navigate, even in full daylight. It comes with over 43,000 courses preloaded so it’s ready to go right out of the box. That can include green slopes on select courses when connected to an active Garmin Golf membership which starts at $9.99 a month.
With use, Garmin’s virtual caddie will show shot dispersion and club data to help suggest which club to hit, and even includes a built-in barometer to offer the most accurate air density readings possible.
The extended battery life lasts for up to 16 days when used in smartwatch mode, and a full 20 hours when using the GPS.
Beyond golf
Thanks to Garmin’s extensive line of wearable technology, the S70 is also able to track heart rate and variability, energy monitoring, sleep monitoring and more. There are also preloaded activities for strength including yoga, HIIT, and running that can be personalized using Garmin Coach on the Garmin Connect app.
You can also pair the S70 smartwatch with your phone to receive text messages, view social, check emails, and listen to music or podcasts using Spotify among other compatible music services.
Price
The Approach S70 is available now and comes with a starting price of $649.99 for the 42mm model and $699 for the larger 47mm model.
