How best to spend — or splurge! — your golf dollars? Whether you have $50 or $500, check out GOLF.com’s new How to Spend… series, in which our own staffers take a designated amount of play money and go shopping in GOLF’s new Pro Shop. The goal here is to not only tell you about the products we love, but also to help golfers find items they might like — no matter their budget. You can visit GOLF’s Pro Shop here.

There’s something powerful about shopping with a finite budget. As a consumer, knowing I have just X amount of dollars to spend makes me far more discerning. That’s why I love this new concept my colleagues are launching that revolves around what GOLF.com’s editors would buy from the Pro Shop if they had a specific amount of money to spend. My task was to spend $175. Let’s get to it!
Adidas Flamingo Golf Hat (white)
I love a crisp, white hat, and the dancing flamingos on this model will lighten up an otherwise-drab winter getup. There’s no reason to stay away from summer flavor during the height of cold, wintery rounds, and the white-and-black color scheme here means this cap will pair well with most outfits.

Yeti Rambler 36 oz Tumbler (stainless steel)
A lot of courses are temporarily suspending their supply of drinking water (due to virus concerns), so it’s never been more important to bring your own source of hydration. And if you’re serious about keeping your drink either very cold or very hot, this Yeti tumbler should be at the top of your list. I’m intrigued by the “chug cap” that’s designed to make taking a swig easier than ever.

Nike Dry Victory Sleeveless Polo (black/white)
It’s layering season, which means it’s time to go sleeveless. (You read that right!) Few things annoy me more than bunched-up short sleeves layered underneath a long sleeve or sweater, which is why I wear my sleeveless polos more often during the fall and winter than I do during the hotter summer months. This breathable black polo has two white stripes lining the collar that add a refined, sophisticated touch.

Adidas Golf Turf Hat (white)
Here’s a less subtle, more in-your-face way of expressing your love of this sport. I prefer the white version of this cap (over its black counterpart), and its turf patch is eye-catching in all the right ways.
