Even with the added forgiveness and playability of modern hybrids and fairway woods, a lot of players still prefer the look and feel of a long iron off the tee — the problem is they don’t offer a lot of forgiveness back.
With the release of the new Stealth Bomber driving iron, TaylorMade is looking to help golfers that prefer an iron by bringing game improvement Stealth iron technology to a driving iron package, and with a new finish option to boot.
Just like the standard Stealth irons, the Bomber features a multi-material Cap Back design, which allows the face to flex without affecting the overall center of gravity location. The Stealth iron design is focused around a low-density polymer that supports the entire topline (heel-to-toe) and cavity to add rigidity leading to more ball speed retention and distance — a great thing to have for a driving iron off the tee.
To maintain an overall solid sound and feel, a dampening system is positioned behind the 450 stainless steel face, in addition to internal ribs, to absorb unwanted vibrations and elicit a solid sound at impact.
Speaking of impact (see what I did there), the one thing the Stealth Bomber won’t be impacting is other clubs in your bag because it comes with a unique WWII-inspired bomber plane shark paint job cover with details all the way down to what looks like rivets.
