These 2024 drivers produced the fastest ball speeds during robot testing

TaylorMade's Qi10 Max and LS drivers were speed demons during robot testing.

Jonathan Wall/GOLF

Let’s be honest, we could all use more distance off the tee. Tracking down a driver with serious ball speed retention is one way to add meaningful yards to your game, particularly on shots that don’t come close to the middle of the face.

For the latest round of robotic testing insights from GOLF’s 2024 ClubTest, we analyzed the recorded ball speeds across all nine impact locations on the face — for 9- and 10.5-degree heads — to determine the fastest drivers at 95 mph.

If you’ve been following along with our recent insight articles, you’ll notice some overlap in the ball speed and consistency categories.

(How we calculate: Each driver is tested at 95 mph using a nine-point face mapping. We hit six balls from each location on the face — high, low and middle quadrants — and then came up with an average based on the 54 strikes.)

Check out the results below.

TaylorMade Qi10 Max (9 degrees) | 139.1 mph

TaylorMade Qi10 LS (9 and 10.5 degrees) | 139 and 138.5 mph

PXG 0311 Black Ops (9 degrees) | 138.4 mph

PXG 0311 Black Ops Custom Driver

AMF Face Technology PXG 0311 Black Ops Drivers deliver big distance gains using a propriety high strength, and more flexible, Titanium Alloy face material that supports increased face deflection during impact. High Strength Composite Contruction Lightweight crown and sole inserts, made from high-grade carbon fiber using advanced compression molding, enable optimal weight distribution in the clubhead. This enhances the moment of inertia (MOI), shifts the center of gravity (CG) lower and farther back, resulting in improved distance and forgiveness. Non-Uniform Buldge and Roll Face The face design supports enhanced forgiveness and improves overall performance by optimizing the club’s reaction to off-center hits.
