Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Drivers
MODELS: Callaway Ai Smoke Max, Callaway Ai Smoke Max D, Callaway Ai Smoke Max Fast and Callaway Ai Smoke Triple Diamond
NEED TO KNOW: The biggest innovation in Callaway’s new Paradym Ai Smoke lineup is the Ai Smart Face, which is designed from upwards of 50,000 face iterations — not to mention innumerable player-fitting data. The end result is a driver that caters to specific attack, path and face angle attributes for each model. Think of it as a “swing code” for your game.
The simulations and fitting data revealed golfers using the draw-biased Max D and lightweight Max Fast would most benefit from a face technology that favors an out-to-in path, slower swing speed and a downward attack with low heel to high toe misses. For golfers with a bit more speed in the tank who don’t necessarily find the center of the face, the Ai Smart Face on the Max is built for mid-speed, upward attack and a slightly out-to-in path. And for the better player on the higher end of the speed spectrum, the low-spin Triple Diamond caters to those who can move it with an even more upward angle of attack and neutral to slightly left path.

Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Irons
Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Irons
MODELS: Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke, Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Max Fast and Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke HL
NEED TO KNOW: Instead of lumping golfers in the game-improvement category into one group, Callaway’s R&D team let Artificial Intelligence take the lead in designing the face architecture on Paradym Ai Smoke. Similar to the “swing code” found on the drivers, each iron face was created using AI to benefit specific swing speeds. The standard, hollow-body Ai Smoke is geared for moderate to high swing speeds — someone who carries their 7-iron 130 yards or more — with minimal distance loss on off-center strikes for a tighter downrange dispersion.
Recognizing not every golfer fits into a better-player profile, the Ai Smoke HL is designed around a more traditional cavity-back shape with more mass positioned lower in the head to induce a higher launch and more spin — roughly 750 RPMs — for moderate swing speeds that typically struggle to keep the ball in the air. Once again prioritizing a high launch and more spin, the lightweight Ai Smoke Max Fast adds an additional 2 degrees of launch and 500 RPMs, when compared to its HL counterpart. The goal behind lengthening the blade and concentrating mass low in the head is to make it incredibly easy to get the ball in the air with consistent carry numbers, regardless of impact location.

Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Fairway Woods
MODELS: Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Max, Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Max D, Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Max Fast and Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke TD
NEED TO KNOW: The same approach Callaway applied to create the Ai Smart Face architecture on the Paradym Ai Smoke drivers was used to shape the “swing code” on each Paradym Ai Smoke fairway wood. Categorizing real players’ swings made it possible to create distinct segmentation across all four models, especially when it came to impact location.
While the path and attack angle remained somewhat similar, Callaway’s supercomputer noticed that golfers using the low-spin Ai Smoke Triple Diamond had a most centered impact location when compared to the Ai Smoke Max’s shot concentration in the low heel and high toe. The dispersion was even wider across the low heel and toe on the draw-bias Ai Smoke Max D and lightweight Ai Smoke Max Fast.

Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Hybrids
Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Hybrids
MODELS: Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke, Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Max Fast and Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke HL
NEED TO KNOW: With a slightly larger profile than last year’s Paradym, the Ai Smart Face architecture on the standard Paradym Ai Smoke is designed to benefit moderate to higher swing speeds. To keep launch and spin on the lower side, a tungsten speed cartridge is situated in the sole — towards the face — to drive the center of gravity forward.
While the adjustable Ai Smoke HL hybrid also features a tungsten cartridge in the sole, the lower face profile makes it easier to get the ball airborne with more spin. With AI continuing to shape the face designs, it’s important to note that the HL hybrids are designed to pair with the HL irons. The Ai Smoke Max Fast has a lower, flatter profile for those who fall on the slower end of the speed spectrum. To maintain a lighter overall weight than the standard and HL hybrids, the adjustable hosel was replaced with a bonded, non-adjustable version.
