Welcome to Gimme That, a GOLF.com column where we’ll highlight one notable item we think you might like. Whether it’s an article of clothing, an intriguing electronic device or anything in between, we want to share these items with you because they’ve generated a bit of chatter by our water cooler (or, these days, on our Slack channel). So sit back, scroll down and keep up with the latest gear golf has to offer.

Hoodies are the trendy thing to wear these days. Whether hoodies are appropriate golf attire or not is a debate I hope fades away faster than this trend began. I love a good hoodie, and I’m often found wearing one. Not to be undone, Crewnecks are having a resurgence. B Draddy took the traditional design one step further with a front pouch on its Russ Crewneck. Now, I can’t take it off.

This concept is one I didn’t think would work, but it does. It just does. My hands are always cold. I’ll chalk it up to bad circulation. On real cold days, I tuck them away in my heated pouch. If it’s a cool day, the Russ Crewneck is the perfect outer layer with a front pouch my hands call home between shots.

I’m not going to hate on the hoodie. It’s a great look and a staple in my closet. There’s also a time and place for a hoodie. Like it or not, it doesn’t work for every occasion. The crewneck lends itself to more settings. I can’t explain why that is or that I entirely agree with it, but it’s true. If I’m looking to accomplish a look between wearing a hoodie and “dressed up,” the Russ Crewneck is getting the call for me.

I don’t want to lump this in with standard crewneck offerings. It’s not. You get what you pay for with its price tag – premium quality. There’s a flexibility that’s perfect for a golf swing with a style well-suited for a night out.
