The four golfers who played with Jon Rahm this week at the Memorial prior to his positive Covid-19 test on Saturday have been cleared to play Sunday’s final round at Muirfield Village Golf Club

Collin Morikawa and Xander Schauffele, who played with Rahm during the first and second round, and Patrick Cantlay and Scottie Scheffer, who were grouped with Rahm during Saturday’s third round, were cleared by the PGA Tour’s contact tracing protocols, the Golf Channel’s Todd Lewis reported. Should they have not been, they would have to be tested on Sunday morning and be subject to facility restrictions, though would have been allowed to play upon a negative test.

Morikawa and Cantlay share the lead entering Sunday’s final round after Rahm was forced to withdraw after Saturday’s final round. Rahm had built a six-shot lead after shooting an eight-under 64 during the third round, but was notified just off the 18th green that he had tested positive on Saturday and would not be allowed to play further, per Tour protocols.

On Monday, Rahm was told that he was subject to contact-tracing protocols, as he had come in close contact with a person who was Covid-19 positive, and he was tested throughout the week. According to Lewis, Rahm and his caddie, Adam Hayes, had told Morikawa, Schauffele, Cantlay and Scheffler during their rounds that he was part of these protocols.
